Jwala Devi Temple, Himachal Pradesh is one of the ancient temples which is situated in the UNA district, Himachal Pradesh. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in India. It is being situated in the lap of the Shivalik range of Kangra valley called “kalidhar“. Jwala Ji is a Devi Temple dedicated to the “GODDESS OF LIGHT” located in jawalamukhi, district Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
Sati”s tongue is believed to have fallen at the very place where Jwala Devi temple is situated now. The tongue of Sati is represented by Jwala or Holy flames that is continuously burning. In the Temple there is no deity is worshiped. It has the series of natural flames since times immemorial believed to be the symbol of Goddess.
The Temple is a great heritage center where people from near and far come to seek the blessings of Jwala Devi. During March to April and September to October every year, colorful fairs are held during the Navratras celebrations because of uncounted pilgrims. Jwala Devi temple is situated at a distance of 35 km from Chintpurni Temple and 36 km from Kangra Devi.
