Christmas festival belongs to celebrating Christ’s Birth, held on the 25th of December in the Western Church every year. Christmas means “Christ-mass.” Although the date is a guess, the tradition of observing it goes back to at least the fourth century.
Why Christmas festival is celebrated on 25th December?
The date 25th December was accepted by the western church as the Annunciation or Immaculate (having no flaw) conception of Jesus in Mary’s womb. December 25th is nine months later and thus celebrated as the birthday of Jesus Christ.
It is the belief that the place Bethlehem in the West Bank is actually the place where Jesus Christ was born.
